The Professional Edition of the emlix Linux Board Support Package for x86 CPUs is particularly composed for the use in industrial embedded applications. Based on this Professional BSP emlix derives a board-specific BSP for a certain hardware provided by our customer. This board-specific x86 Professional BSP is designed to be used in development projects. It forms the ideal basis for a quick start to application designs. To support development work on Windows-based computers a complete Linux system with a preconfigured eclipse IDE on the basis of VirtualBox is also included in  the BSP.

Due to the fact that x86 boards do have a lot in common, the effort to develop a BSP can be reduced considerably by using the preconfigured x86 BSP. Nevertheless each board needs certain adjustments. As a rule there will not be any problems. Therefore the adaptation of the x86 BSP to the specific board can be carried out efficiently and for an attractive inclusive price.

All customers of emlix x86 Professional BSPs are eligible for a maintenance contract with emlix. Within a reasonable inclusive price emlix offers the storage and maintenance of the board-specific x86 BSPs as well as expedient updates and patches. So the BSP will stay technically up to date. Likewise we are at your disposal when the utilised hardware has to be modified e.g. after the discontinuation or scheduled replacement of a component. Often such modifications have unforeseen consequences and bring forward as yet unconsidered interdependencies. If need be emlix will support you with the adaptation of your embedded systems software to new or changing requirements.

Each board-specific x86 Professional Edition includes 60 days of start-up support via email. The email-support includes assistance for the basic initialization of the dedicated evaluation hardware. We will assist you in deploying the images on the non-volatile data storage of the hardware. The previous state of the board does not matter. The support is restricted to ten emails.

The two-day developer seminar “Embedded Linux for x86” is an introduction with practical examples which will give you a good basis for your own projects. The seminar is offered in Göttingen, Berlin and Nuremberg, as well as Europe-wide as in-house training. The target participants are developers with little or no previous knowledge of Unix/Linux. emlix also offers individual training to get an in-depth introduction to the technology.
