We are currently developing a V4L2 driver for the framegrabber family based on the Video Interface ASIC (VIA) by Matrox. It is planned to support the standard and Multi-Channel (MC) variant of the Meteor-II family. Currently however, only the MC variant is supported.
Your feedback is needed
In order to determine the future development of the Meteor-II driver we would like to get some feedback from you on the following topics:
What further features are you interested in for the current driver (Meteor-II/MultiChannel)?
Which other board(s) of the Meteor-II family would you want/need a Linux driver for (Standard, Digital,1394, Camera-Link)?
Which other Matrox board beside the Meteor-II family would you like to have a Linux driver for?
How many boards of which variant do you (plan to) use with this driver under Linux?
Feedback and Support
Please, send comments and questions regarding the driver to the maintainer Cord Seele, All feedback is welcome. For general questions about support contact also meteor2@emlix.com.
Further Help and Reading
For general information on Video for Linux issues see the video4linux mailing list. On Bill Dirks V4L2 page you can find some good documentation about the V4L2 API. Further V4L2 projects are listed on Bill's people & projects page.
Have a look here if you need a Linux driver for a Matrox Meteor card (not Meteor-II!). This driver is maintained by Oliver Carmona from K-Team.
